All Shiny and Stuff!

Describe an outfit you LOVED wearing.

When I was in the 6th grade, my new back to school outfit was amazing! A fairly simple and straightforward denim skirt, about knee length, and some sort of top which I can't remember.

BUT neither of those things was the cool part!

The cool parts were the accessories! I had silver penny loafers with a matching silver belt that just totally MADE the outfit if you know what I mean.

They were a shiny metallic silver, but actually made out of leather (or pleather, if you will). The belt was sort of V shaped in the front which gave it a cooler shape than a normal belt. It sort of (a little) reminds me of Wonder Woman's headband, only on my belt the point pointed down towards the floor.

I loved that outfit for sure! It made me feel cool and powerful...kind of like wonder woman or something!

What about you? Do you remember an outfit you loved to wear (or LOVE to wear)?

  1. The penny loafers brought back memories. I so wanted the real kind. I remember my best friend had them and stuck a penny in. I never asked my mom for them. Weird. Now my daughter has an opinion on everything she wears. I never thought I could....ha.

    1. yes, mine definitely were not "real" although I think I could have put a penny in them.
I remember getting teased for my knock-off clothing as a kid. I understood then what I know better now- my parents did the best they could for us.

My daughter's wardrobe now consists largely of hand-me-downs. Not so much because we must, but because it feels wasteful and ungrateful not to use the things friends and family give us.

So far, she doesn't mind and she loves wearing her cousins clothes...I guess we'll see how long that lasts :-)
